What you need to know about the program:

• When you receive a Cape Ann Gift Certificate, we ask that you stamp or write in the name of your business on the "Merchant Name" line.
• Cape Ann Gift Certificates are deposited just like a check. The Chamber maintains an account funded by the original purchase of the gift certificate.
• If the Cape Ann Gift Certificate is not used within $10 of its face value, you may give the customer the difference in cash or issue your own store gift certificate.
• The Program will be promoted by the Chamber, year-round, through ads with Comcast local cable, the Gloucester Daily Times, and North Shore 104.9. The Program will also be mentioned at Chamber events, and each year a special notice is sent to Human Resource Directors of Cape Ann's largest employers.
• Participants are provided with a tent card for each cash register and a window decal indicating that you accept Cape Ann Gift Certificates.
• The names of participating businesses are given out with each Cape Ann Gift Certificate purchase, and can be found on the Chamber's web site at CapeAnnChamber.com/GiftCert.
• Cape Ann Gift Certificates may be purchased in any denomination from the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce offices in Gloucester and Rockport, at both Shaw's Supermarket Gloucester locations, the First National Bank of Ipswich branch in Essex, and the Cape Ann Savings Bank branch in Manchester. .
• There are many Gloucester Gift Certificates still outstanding that are still valid. If a customer comes in with the old certificate, please accept them just as you would the Cape Ann Gift Certificate. Samples of the older versions of the certificates are posted here. Please circulate the four versions among your employees so that they are aware of the program and that you now accept them.
• There is no charge to participate in the Cape Ann Gift Certificate program.
